Latest Updates from Our Project:
New Pledge Tier! Solo Game Info! Other Cool Stuff!
– Fri, May 16, 2025 at 04:49:40 AM
We've added a top tier £110 pledge level, the REVOLUTIONARY which includes physicals of the Solo Game, Radical's Handbook and GM screen.
You don't need to back at this tier to get the Solo Game or Radical's Handbook. We'll be printing the Radical's Handbook inside the core book, and providing a free PDF of the Solo Game to all backers! We just want to make sure everyone has a chance to get all the physicals they want.
This was technically in the last update, but the products were listed incorrectly and are now fixed. Sorry for the double messaging, just wanted to clarify and prevent confusion.
Actual Play Updates
There's been some more MAD AS HELL content to check out!
Tonight stellaluna will be taking on the Grindstone, a demon of cruel labour practices in fulfilment warehouses. Catch the stream live on May 16th.
My First Dungeon's one shot released earlier this week, with our Radicals fighting a Pipe Leech, a demon of poisoned water in rental housing. You can grab an extra 0 on their patreon. Elliot Davis is GMing the session and is also the writer of THE SCARRED, so you can listen to one of the game's designers play.
Who Hurt You release episode 1 of their mini-campaign against a demon of the cold with an adventure set in their home town of Birmingham where.
Yuck its a Pipe Leech that crawls through lead pipes and drowns people in poison water.
Party of One
Jeff Stormer of Party of One got together with Austin Walker from Friends At The Table earlier this week to play Orbital Blues.
Orbital Blues isn't Mad as Hell (although they're both about how much we hate capitalism), but they are playing the Orbital Blues solo game, THE WANDERER, which is written by Friend of SoulMuppet™ Elliot Davis. Elliot is now returning to SoulMuppet projects to pen THE SCARRED, the Mad as Hell solo game.
If you want an idea of how Elliot crafts solo games, and some insight into how the Mad As Hell solo game might play, you should check out the Party of One episode.
Elliot also won an award of as one of this year's Diana Jones Emerging Designers this week, so you know the Scarred will be very good. Plus, I told you it would be!
You can pick up a physical of the solo game by using the add-on or upgrading the pledge to the REVOLUTIONARY at £110 GBP.
Speak soon,
Zach

Hello Radicals!
We’re getting really close to unlocking our next stretch goal, The Scarred, a solo game / GM prep tool by the fantastic Elliot Davis. The Scarred will be available as a PDF expansion for everyone, with physical copies available as an add on. If you’re looking for an exciting way to create new Demons or want to explore the world of Mad as Hell as a solo player, this is for you.
Speaking of addons, as we mentioned in our last update we’re going to be creating a GM screen illustrated by Per Janke and featuring a load of quick use information for GMs. We’ve created a new pledge tier to include this or you can grab it as an addon on any pledge tier! If you’d like a copy be sure to add it to your pledge now. We've also (slightly prempetively) added the solo game to the new highest pledge tier, as we're just a little bit off the goal and want to get it into the hands of as many of you as possible!
A suited demon with a flaming face who haunts corperate offices. What violence do you reckon it is a demon of?

Stretch Goals: GM Screens, Solo Games, Extra Patch

– Wed, May 07, 2025 at 07:37:26 AM
Hello Radicals,
After a long weekend and a load of support, we’re now creeping up on the £25k. We really appreciate all of you getting Mad as Hell with us, and your continued enthusiasm and encouragement is helping us make the kind of art we all want to see out in the world.
Today is all about stretch goals, and we’ve got three new ones to announce today. In classic SoulMuppet style, these are brilliant extras that enhance your play experience and also look neat.
£20k (FUNDED) - GM Screen
We’re starting off with a GM Screen, and we’re just gonna unlock this one, you can pretend it was a £20k stretch goal!
We’re going to have Per Janke, our incredible interior artist, make a new GM Screen for us. SoulMuppet has gotten so sophisticated with Hole™ technology, that we'd never miss an opportunity for more holes into the product line. The GM screen will be it’s own weird and lavish illustration, but exactly the same size as the Mad as Hell Core Book hardcover.
What this means if you’re going to be fully compatible with the 3 existing Mad as Hell dustjackets, and you’ll be able to swap it the dressings of your GM screen on the fly.
We’re going to add a new add-on to support making this available, and you can add it to your pledge right now. On we hit the solo game, we'll add a new pledge tier containing everything in the project!
A note, for now asset will be placeholder, and we’ll share an image when we have one. It'll be beautiful, I promise.
Another piece of art by Per, who will be illustrating the Mad as Hell GM Screen.
£30k - Solo Game: The Scarred
From the pen of writer, game designer and friend of SoulMuppet Elliot Davis, the Scarred is a Demon creation game and prep tool for Mad as Hell. Elliot has already created beautiful solo experiences for Orbital Blues and Paint the Town Red, and is back with a game that asks players to dive into the murk of one particular capitalist evil.
You’ll discover how the Demon hunts, how it manifests, and crucially, how you can stop it. You’ll have to maintain your composure as your research forces you to confront memories of your own losses and the harm created by capitalism itself.
The Scarred will be available as a PDF expansion for everyone, with the physical addition available as an add-on. It won’t just be useable as a solo game, it will also be a valuable tool for any GMs looking to make do session prep by helping you create new demons in a fun and interactive format.
Do you know what this? I don't. I don't even think Scrap does. The Scarred can help you find out.
40k: Second Patch: RISE, SHINE, REVOLT
We’ll add a new patch to the campaign, this time of Anna and her RISE. SHINE, REVOLT protest sign. This is another original art piece from per.
We’ll chuck in a new add-on to the project so you can add the patch to your pledge, or, if you’re one of the lucky few who got in in the first 48 hours, you’ll be able to swap your MAD AS HELL badge out for this new one during the pledge manager.
The image we'll be turning into a patch.
We’ll be back with more goals soon. 50k will probably be another copy of the Field Guide to Hell on Earth, with a series of new writers and another artist, but we don't want to get ahead of ourselves.
Please share the campaign with everyone you can, its the continued support of backers like yourselves that keep us going in the capitalist hellscape we all inhabit together. We want to keep making unapologetically bold art, and need your help to do that.
Stay Mad as Hell

Fully Funded!

Hello fellow Radicals,
Jelly here, head honcho at SoulMuppet. I'm tremondously happy to say that Mad as Hell is fully funded.
Mad as Hell is a huge project for us. We've always made games about politics and our outrage at the state of the world, but when making this game that has been brought fully to the surface.
Capitalism fucking sucks. It chews up the marginalised and vulnerable makes them suffer. We want those people to be safe and happy and fulfilled and these systems of hate and pain to not exist.
We're so glad you're joining us on a journey to make this revolutionary, liberationist and uncomfortable RPG about some of the truths of the world.
We'll be celebrating by adding some stretch goals on Tuesday next week. I don't want to announce anything too fast, and it's a bank holiday in the UK on Monday, which means none of the team will be working. I wouldn't be a very good boss if I made them work!
I'll still be online though, responding to any urgant queries and explaining to people on our Facebook ads that we live in a society and that sometimes you have to use the tools of capitalism to make an anti-capitalist game. Plus, the game is free, Facebook man/bot. There is a free quickstart you can download now, even if you're not a Russian bot.
Please tell your friends about Mad as Hell. Please tell your D&D obsessed pals. Please tell angry leftists who know nothing about RPGs about Mad as Hell. Chuck it in a group chat about knitting or something. Please help us out in our joruney to profilerate radicalism.
